This trend includes expected growth of 2.8% in the current year. In 2022, the industry was negatively affected by the repeated COVID-19 pandemic. Industry revenue decreased by 4.9% in the year. However, the recovering China’s economy led to a rebound in the industry in the following years.

The industry is an important supporting to the economy. Wires and cables are the core components of many infrastructure constructions, like power, communication, transportation, and others. The extensive downstream markets have supported the industry's demand.
Power cable is the largest product segment. China’s large demand for electricity power, continuous expansion and updating of power transmission and distribution network have driven the demand for power cables.
Industry operations are close to downstream market. The southeastern and coastal regions of China have higher economic development level and urbanization rate, resulting in a high demand for wires and cables.
Industry concentration level is low. The top four participants, namely Baosheng SCI, Shangshang Cable, QiFan Cable, and Far East, are expected to jointly make up of 4.7% of industry revenue in 2024.
